Our FIrST Story

Midori started on Main Street in Grand Bend in 2010 as a very small catering and takeout business. With each new season, Midori continuously experienced more business. After Midori’s third year, owner-operator Tina Hayter decided to take the risk of expanding her existing business. Midori moved into a larger, more upscale and newly renovated location complete with a patio and a liquor licence. In 2013, Tina was awarded the Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year. This was a great compliment to her efforts as opening a restaurant was an ultimate dream. Midori specializes in sushi, as well as salads, and mouthwatering appetizers. Midori is a perfect choice for a date, lunch time treat, take out or an evening out with friends! We are looking forward to serving you!

Hi we are Cat & Joel the proud new owners of Midori Sushi Grand Bend. We moved our family from Vancouver, BC to Sarnia, ON and now Grand Bend, ON. After managing and running various restaurants, we decided it's our time to take the wheel. Previous owner Tina Hayter has created a very successful local business, and we want to continue with her passion. Midori has a reputation of excellence and commitment. Tina has moved on to other endeavours and we were in the right place at the right time. Joel's family has a rich history in Grand Bend, dating back 75 years. Our hearts have always been here as we visit family and hike in The Pinery, cruise the strip, and continually visit Midori, our favourite restaurant; it became clear Grand Bend would be our final home. When we heard Midori was for sale, we felt it was our future. We are here to add our own expertise and flair and can contribute to this wonderful establishment with a hefty background in food & cocktails. We are excited to add fresh oysters to the menu as well. 

Our plan is to stay open year-round and add some of our own recipes to the menu. From catering to takeout to indoor/outdoor dining we have you covered.
